Quality extends beyond the procedure
Refractive surgery changes the optical properties of the eye. The service includes much more than the operation: assessment, planning, information, the treatment itself and follow-up.
The First Clinic’s approach is based on the Finnish SFS7515 standard for refractive surgery services. It sets out a model for making these stages and the responsibilities involved explicit.
An informed decision before treatment
The treating surgeon examines the client and defines an individual refraction promise before the client commits to surgery. The intended refraction, relevant risks and total treatment costs are discussed in advance.
A written checklist provides a practical way to document the service offered and the responsibilities accepted.
Accountability and follow-up
During the guarantee period, follow-up allows the surgeon to evaluate healing and the agreed outcome. Necessary follow-up medical fees are included in the agreed care package; visit-specific office fees are charged separately.
The refraction guarantee concerns the outcome defined in the individual agreement. It does not imply that surgery is risk-free.
